400K Successes Wednesday, March 5, 2008 Posted by jaygross Comments: 0
I always love this time of year, as there is so much collector activity for Spring Training. This year certainly has not disappointed with very solid totals of successes being reported - with over 7000 in the past 12 days.
Today we hit a pretty big milestone, our 400,000th successes.
I'd like to personally thank every one of our members that track their successes on SCN. I think it's pretty safe to say that SportsCollectors.Net has become quite an extensive information resource for sports autographs.
Last night I caught up with a long time member (who has been regularly contributing for over 8 years) on the new chat. Even though I hadn't spoken (or chatted) with him in over a year and he is in a different part of the country, it was really cool catching up with him. Chatting with him reminded just how much I enjoy sharing this hobby.
We were both commenting how amazing it is the way the site has changed over the years (we're on our 4th design and 3rd backend code base), and that we never envisioned it becoming what it is today. He also gave me some more good ideas for enhancements.
So the goal is for us to hit the 475K mark by the end of 2008. It's certainly ambitious, but it's something to shoot for. I'm planning to add on more features to make success tracking better and add more reporting features over the course of the year.
I figured I'd share the top categories of things you guys seem to asking for most (and that I am currenlty working on):
- A better chat
- Enhancements to trading & the trade manager
- Posting scans on SCN
- More enhancements to reporting and searching for successes
- More interesting blog posts
